I have listened to multiple interviews with Kellie-Jay Keen to try to find what is so ‘vile’ and ‘abhorrent’ about her, and I cannot find it to my measure.
The only thing I can find is that she is too black and white and needs to collaborate with trans people who are sane and mentally balanced. Women-only spaces and, in addition to those, other spaces for trans people.
As a person born with one hand, I have never looked down on the multitude of categories in para-sports – nor insisted that the rest of you call yourself two-armed persons. I am quite happy with myself and take on my challenges without requiring an obliteration of acknowledgement of the reality of my body and my history. It is my body, not my soul; it is my experience on this planet.
In Kellie-Jay Keen, what I see is a heroine willing to stand up to mega-corporations and profiteering.
YET even if you loathe her, loathe her loudness, loathe what she says and what she does – or just are not 100% on board with her – how can any of it (woman definition t-shirts and all) HONESTLY compare to the scale of pain and suffering allowed (and encouraged) for massive dollar profits from callous medical experimentation and psychological experimentation on young human beings.
How does Kellie-Jay Keen’s message compare really to the harm from superficial news media and politicians, from authoritarian attitudes to speech and assembly, from not truly accepting homosexuality, and from old-fashion hate of woman – or resentment at being one.
Research the details for yourself – what is involved in the surgeries? What are puberty blockers doing? What are the psychiatric theories being turned into law?
Because going into the details would seem to be more than many of our politicians are willing to do.
